Obituary of Arthur William Boyne

Arthur William Boyne, formerly of Lepreau, husband of Gertrude (Spear) Boyne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 04, 2012 at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Centre. Born in Saint John on January 15, 1920, he was a son of the late Raymond and Eva (Donner) Boyne. Art worked as a Commissionaire, and enjoyed cutting his winter’s wood and digging clams, and also enjoyed taking long walks, often taking his grandchildren along with him. A Veteran of World War II, Art enlisted on January 5, 1942 and served with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps in the United Kingdom and Central Mediterranean, and was discharged with the rank of Corporal on January 14, 1946. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Art is survived by his children, Barbara Ralph (Bill) of Lepreau, David Boyne of Lepreau, Sharon Boyne-Travis (Mike) of Seeley’s Cove, and Nancy Carson (John) of St. Andrews; grandchildren Christopher Travis (Jen), Sarah Cook (Wade), Angela Wilson (Rob), Dale Ralph (Tasha), Shawn Ralph, Alana Carson, and Craig Carson; great grandchildren Jolene, Chad, Brooke, Morgan, Rebecca, Luke, and Lilly; sisters Clara Boyne and Helen Melanson, both of Lepreau; a sister-in-law, Marion Boyne of St. George; and several nieces and nephews. Art was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen "Kay" Boyne, and by a brother, Robert "Bob" Boyne. In keeping with Art’s wishes, all services will be held privately. Interment will take place in the Lepreau Falls Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Lepreau Falls Cemetery or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425). Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
