Obituary of Constance Norberta Cooper
Constance "Connie" N. Cooper, the wife of the late Ralph Cooper, St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home, formerly of Grand Bay – Westfield, passed away December 29, 2013 at St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born on September 27, 1931 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Margaret (Wisted) Holland.
Connie graduated from St. Vincent’s Girls High School in 1949. She worked at Gault’s Store and then the Post Office in Grand Bay until retiring. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Church of Grand Bay – Westfield and a member of the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed a good game of 45’s (a family tradition) and being outside working around her home. She was a very devoted Catholic, exceptional mother and loved her family dearly.
Surviving are her children, Anne Marie Brawn (Keith), Grand Bay – Westfield; Tony Cooper (Shelly), Saint John; brother, Leo (Catherine) Holland, Belleville, ON; sister, Sister Kathleen Holland, Antigonish, NS; grandchildren, Alex, Sarah, Cody and Stephen.
Besides her parents and her husband, Ralph, she was predeceased by infant son, David and several brothers and sisters.
The family of Connie would like to thank the entire staff of St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home for their love, care and attention they provided for their mother.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with family visiting on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 6-8 pm and public visiting on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 12:00 Noon from St. Matthew’s Church, Grand Bay - Westfield. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Augustine’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home, Multiple Sclerosis of Canada (Atlantic), Parkinson Society of New Brunswick or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
