Obituary of Joan Carroll French Moffatt

Joan Carroll French Moffatt of Saint John passed away on April 26, 2013 at St. John and Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on July 16, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Jane (Craft) Moffatt.

 Joan was a life long member of St George’s Church, where she sang in the choir for over 50 years and was a noted soloist and was a member of Martha and Mary Woman’s Group. She worked for NBTel for many years and retired in December of 1986, as a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Joan traveled as a part of a good will tour across Europe. She loved to travel and was an extensive world traveler with her friends.

 As the last surviving member of her immediate family, and she is survived by many nieces and nephews; her life long friends, Betty and John Parks.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Byron, Fred and Herbert; sisters, Iva, Rita, Thysza, Helen "Honey", Edith "Dee" and Dawn.

 Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, (634-7425) with visiting on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11: 00 AM from St. George’s Church, Saint John West. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Saint John. For those who wish remembrances may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
