Obituary of Harry Allan Campbell

The death of Harry Allan Campbell occurred on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Kennebec Manor. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Merrill) Campbell. Harry was born in Saint John on May 27, 1916, and was the youngest child of the late Ethel (Black) and William Campbell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Harry worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway, retiring in 1975 as General Yard Master for Saint John. He was an avid bowler and belonged to many bowling leagues, including Monday Afternoon Seniors League, the Bionic League, and the Thursday Evening Good Time League, bowling until his ill health forced him to retire. Harry will be missed by his children, Eleanor James (late Douglas), Marilyn McNichol (J. Colin), and Allan "Bud" Campbell (Joan); seven grandchildren, Julie Carleton (Brian), Allan Hargrove, Linda Clarke (Wayne), Brian Hargrove (Gloria), Judy Armstrong (Darrell), Terri Lynn Russell (Van), and Cyndi Campbell (Richard Van Basten); several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Harry was predeceased by his wife, his parents, siblings, and one great grandson. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Kidney Foundation or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
