Obituary of David Lawrence Grinton
The death of David Lawrence Grinton of Saint John, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 27, 2012. David was born in Ferndale, MI, USA on December 22, 1925 to the late Robert and Luella (Edwards) Grinton. He was the husband of the late Leona (Muldoon) Grinton and the late Ivy (Goldthop) Grinton.
David was employed with CP Rail and worked and lived in various locations across Canada. David was a veteran of WWII serving overseas with the RCAF with the rank of Flt Sgt squadron 224 and was a member of the RCL Branch #69 and Masonic Lodge Carleton Union # 8 F & AM.
He is survived by his children, Tom (Marlene) of Lorneville, NB; Bill (Laurie) Oakville, ON; Wendy (Terry) Ward of Edmonton, AB and Vicki (Louis) Daigle of St. George, NB; a step-son, Brian Goldthorp of Mississauga, ON; step-daughter, Bev Pitts of Kingston, ON; three brothers, Joe of Richmond Hill, ON; Robert (Rose Marie) of Mississauga, ON and Don (Linda) of Pickering, ON; two sisters, Gloria (Charles) Hill of Brighton, ON and Faye (Robert) Flowers of Mississauga, ON; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by a sister, Ella McMillin.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A tribute to a veteran will be held on Sunday at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel. Interment in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
