Obituary of Hugh W. L. Carvell

Carvell, Hugh Wilbur Lewis – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Hugh Carvell, loving husband of Gail (Leslie) Carvell, announces his unexpected passing which occurred on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 20, 1939, he was a son of the late Gordon and Madolin (Christopher) Carvell. In addition to his wife, Gail, of 58 years, Hugh will be missed by his children, Marion Hill (George), Karen Nicolle (Kevin), Robert Carvell (Wanda), Christine Burrill (Gordon), Mark Carvell (Elizabeth), Elaine Kilpatrick (Dan) and David Carvell (Susan); 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Carvell; a sister, Lois Ellis; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, Hugh was predeceased by a grandson, Mike Hill and two brothers, Robert and Howard Carvell. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB with visiting on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 6-8 pm. A celebration of Hugh’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Calvary Temple, 83 Sydney Street, Saint John, at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
