Obituary of Helen Evelyn Kelly
The family of Helen Evelyn Kelly (nee-Astorino) of Saint John NB wishes to announce her passing which occurred on August 26, 2016 at Cedar House, Loch Lomond Village. Born in Rusagonis, NB on August 31, 1923, Helen was the daughter of Angelo and Annie (McSheffrey) Astorino and loving wife of the late George C Kelly for 61 years.
Helen grew up in McAdam,NB until graduation from high school and moved to Saint John working at Robbins Drug Store and then started a 41 year career with CP Rail retiring in 1984. After retirement Helen and George enjoyed travelling, especially enjoying the cruises they experienced to different parts of the world. Helen made West Saint John her home for over 50 years but loved their cottage on Oromocto Lake where they spent most of their summers.
Helen is survived by her daughters Nancy (Mike) Owens, Karen (Mark) Armstrong and sons Mark (Hope) Kelly and Tim ( Lori) Kelly, seven grandchildren Gregory, Zachary, Jennifer, Brandon, Jarod, Jeremy, Matthew and three great-grandchildren Cloe, Zoey and Liam, sister Audrey( Jack) MacDonald Nepean, ON, and sisters in law Pauline Astorino (McAdam, NB) and Ruth Kelly(Halifax, NS) brother in law Alan Duplisea ( Grand Bay-Westfield NB) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George, her parents, her sisters Mary McCann, Bessie Duplisea, Barb Crocker and brothers Frank Astorino, Gerald Astorino and infant brothers Angelo and Robert.
The family wish to send heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cedar House, Loch Lomond Village for the excellent care, compassion and dignity shown to her in the past 5 years.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John West, NB (634-7425) with visitation on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John, NB on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 12:00 PM with an interment to follow at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
