Obituary of Adrienne Ruth Adams

The death of Adrienne Adams, formerly of West Saint John and the Kingston Peninsula, and more recently of Lorneville, beloved wife of the late Glendon Adams occurred on Monday, February 1, 2016 at her home. Born on April 22, 1934 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Dennis) Stackhouse. Adrienne loved to garden and always enjoyed the beauty of flowers. Her broad interest in crafts included quilting and painting. Her devotion to Scrabble had more to do with the friendships she established through the game than her scoring capability. Adrienne could never pass a yard sale and loved antique collecting. Her love of all things chocolate and her clever wit will be fondly recalled by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed. Adrienne is survived by her children, Glendon (Wanda), Bobby (Fran), Tommy (Debbie), Brian (Karen), Kathy Wilson (Matt) and Peter; siblings, Annetta Abrams, Diane Stewart, Richard Stackhouse, Mary Ann Stephansson and Nancy Erb; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Frank and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jack Porter. As per the family’s wishes, all services will be held privately. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John (634-7425). The family wishes to recognize and thank the extraordinary Extra Mural staff who supported them throughout Adrienne’s brief illness. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Extra Mural Program.
