Obituary of Jean Mott Laskey Reid

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Mott Laskey Reid, loving wife to Burton Reid, announces her passing which occurred on January 7, 2016 at Bobby’s Hospice, with her loving family by her side. She was born at Belyea’s Cove, Queens Co. in July 1938 to the late Theodore and Gladys Mott. Jean was a devoted member of Grand Bay Baptist Church, she was also a member of Sisters of the Nile. She loved to shop, but over all, spending time with her family was what she enjoyed most. Jean is survived by her husband, Burton Reid, her sons: Terry (Tanya) Laskey, Kevin (Carol) Laskey, Keith (Pam) Laskey, her grandchildren: Andrew, Chrissy (Brent), Kayla (Matt), Alex (Liz), her great granddaughter Emily, her step-daughters: Paula (Fred) Little, Gail (Andy) Horgan, her brother Lloyd Mott and sister Irene (Charlie) Cyr, step-sister Nora Brown, brother-in-law Sterling Braman, Aunt Lydia Webster and serveral nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her first husband Vincent Laskey, her son Ralph Laskey, step-mother Gretta Mott, step-sister Myrtle Braman and sisters-in-law Thelma Mott and Geraldine Mott . Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) where visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10 from 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 11 from Grand Bay Baptist Church, 77 Woolastook Drive at 2 PM.
