Obituary of Mary Elizabeth McAuley

The death of Mary McAuley of Saint John, wife of 16 years to Walter Prosser, occurred on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on August 19, 1950 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Anna (Whalen) McAuley. Mary worked in accounting for 24 years with Clark Drummie Law Firm and continued her career at Gorman Nason from where she retired. She enjoyed listening to music, walks on the beach and loved to dance. Mary proudly earned the title of Canadian Shuffleboard Champion. She always had great empathy for others and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Mary was an amazing person, mother and wife. In addition to her husband, Walter, Mary is also survived by her son, Joshua Vautour (Jazmine Burke) of Ottawa; brother, Roger McAuley (Marlene) of Saint John; grandchildren, Tyler, Fiona, Zoe, Oliver, Asher and Brandon; niece, Tanya Parks (John) of Saint John; nephew, Troy McAuley of Saint John; as well as grand-nieces, Summer and Autumn. Besides her parents, Mary was also predeceased by her step-brother, Joey. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home Chapel, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John (634-7425) on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
