Obituary of Susan Avis Wilson
Susan was born to Arnold and Lena Barton of Coal Creek, NB on September 11, 1947 and graduated from Chipman High School in 1965. She had two siblings, John Barton (Tina) of Moncton and Annie Capson of Riverview. While attending Fredericton Teachers College she met Lester Wilson and graduated in 1967. For most of her career, she taught at Seawood and Holy Trinity schools. She and Lester were married on June 28, 1969. They had two children – Bradley Ross born on September 24, 1974 and Karen Lynn born on September 2, 1977. Bradley married Petra Reiss on October 7, 2006 and Karen married Jimmy McAllister on April 13, 2004. Jimmy and Karen have two children – Maddox James and Mallory Jenna.
Susan had many interests and activities. Aside from spending time with her two grandchildren, she had a great love of gardening and was a member of many organizations including the River Valley Garden Club, Marco Polo Quilt Guild, Razzle Dazzle Dames Red Hatters and Circle of Friends.
She will be greatly missed by her numerous friends and family.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visiting on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 1:00 pm from St. Mark’s United Church, 50 Dexter Drive, Saint John. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to Bobby’s Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
