Obituary of Lena Maxine Tracy

With profound sadness, the family of Lena M. Tracy announce her passing which occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Tracy, New Brunswick on August 20, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Hazen and Mabel (Dewitt) McCleary and a devoted wife to the late Charles E. Tracy. In her younger years, Lena enjoyed a variety of hobbies including bowling, bingo and card games. One of her greatest pleasures was Sunday visits from her family when they all gathered in the sun porch. Lena will be missed by her children, Chris Tracy (Lenore) of Quispamsis, Eric Tracy (Louise) of Hopewell Hill, Gloria Hachey (Robert Clifford) of Saint John; a son-in-law, Ric Lingley of Quispamsis; a brother, Elwood McCleary (Dot); a sister, Joan Larson (Galen); a brother-in-law, John Willinski all of Maine; grandchildren, Richard, Michael, Robert, Darryl, Shawn, Troy, Shawna, Deric and Vicki; great grandchildren, Elexie, Drew, Addi, Jordan, Michael, Avelyn, Autumn, Ryan, Julia and Isla; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended relatives. In addition to her husband and parents, Lena was predeceased by a daughter Diane Lingley in 2014; her sisters, Mildred Harris, Mae Heenan, Alice Cail and Eileen Willinski; and a great granddaughter Haley Michelle Hachey. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home for their loving care of Lena during her stay with them, as well as Dr. M. Langille at the Saint John Regional Hospital and the staff of the Palliative care unit for their compassion. "You are all amazing". Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visiting on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Brenan’s Bay View Chapel from 10:30 am until her Celebration of Life service begins at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at Gladstone Cemetery on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Bobby’s Hospice, Palliatve Care at the Saint John Regional Hospital or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
