Hi Carla, sorry to know our great leader is no longer with us; he was a great example to many people who looked up to him; I really don't know how he did what he did, working from early morning to late in the day never letting up and always pursuing the station priorities with passion and perseverance; after I announced my retirement in late 2012 I started teasing him and asking him when he will retire but I never had an answer; to him Lepreau meant the world and he never let Lepreau down; from pursuing station goals to resolving regulator's issues to managing people under him to pleasing people over him!!! I am very proud to have worked under him and I know we got along really well with the common goal of serving Lepreau. I don't know what to say to make you feel better except to say he died fulfilling his passion of being a great engineer and allowing the rest of us to follow his footsteps in the engineering domain. At least now he will suffer no more and peace will be upon his soul; we will miss him and so will the whole NBPower company and staff for a great engineer has departed us.

Dear Carla and family, Words cannot express how saddened we are by Gord`s passing. I was honoured to be asked to be a pallbearer at the funeral and it hurts that I will be unable to attend. Please know that our thoughts will be with you. I will always cherish all the fun we had playing golf over the many years. It was Gord who suggested that we join Westfield way back in 1980 and I believe that very first year he hit a hole in one on #6. He did not see it go in but I did and I can still remember him laughing as he picked the ball from the cup. We traveled to and from Saint john High everyday for 3 years and then spent all those years telling stories on the golf course. Rest in peace old friend. Greg Kingston

I worked with Gord for over 30 years at Point Lepreau. He was extremely dedicated and always worked as a professional no matter the task. I still remember our week long golf trip to Cape Cod with four guys from the plant. Gord enjoyed quite a few laughs during the rounds we played and I still remember his distinctive laugh as we played 36 holes a day for a week. He always treated everyone with a great deal of respect and we have lost not only a great professional engineer but a kind and gentle man. My thoughts and prayers are with you Carla.

I am so sorry you lost him so young. I am out of town and will miss the visitation and service but my thoughts will be with you. Dear Carla and all of Gord's extended family. Andre and I are so very sad for your loss and truly saddened for the bit of empty space in our lives now left behind without Gordie in it. Andre really looked up to Gordie as a mentor here at PLNGS. Always said to me 'that Gord is right smart!'. I too enjoyed bantering with Gordie - I knew that dry wit was there and always enjoyed encouraging it to come out! There is really nothing anyone can say during times like these is there? Perhaps knowing that the PLNGS community wraps you in warmth and understanding can provide some small comfort to get you through the next days, weeks and months. Love to you - Andre and Stephanie.
