Obituary of Elizabeth Hoben Swim

Surrounded by her loving family the passing of Elizabeth Swim (Duke) of Rothesay, NB, occurred on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Embassy Hall. Born on August 9, 1936 in Gagetown, NB, she was the wife of the late James Swim and the daughter of the late Walter & Flora Duke. Libby was a member of Saint David's United Church of Rothesay, NB. She worked as a bookkeeper of the Cherry Brook Zoo and the Animal Rescue League. Libby loved being outdoors, feeding her birds, squirrels and walking her dog Jennie. She enjoyed camping in Eastport, boating, gardening, playing bridge and making cookies for her beloved grandchildren. Her loving heart and quick sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family. Libby is survived by her daughters; Debbie Pleadwell (John) of Rothesay, Kelly Melanson (Robbie) of Quispamsis, Mary Beth Aasen (Ian) of Quispamsis; grandchildren, Katelyn Melanson, Erin McCrone, Ashley Melanson, Craig Melanson, Katrina Aasen and Taylor Aasen; great grandson, Caius. She was predeceased by her son, Jamie Swim and her sister; Margaret Duncan. The family would like to thank the staff of Embassy Hall for their wonderful care and support. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 8 at Saint David's United Church at 2:00 PM. A private family interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saint John.
