Obituary of Murray Lester Carpenter

The death of Murray Lester Carpenter of Rothesay, NB, husband of Doris (Barbour) Carpenter, occurred on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Rothesay on May 1, 1924, he was a son of the late Howard and Lillian (Currie) Carpenter. Murray worked with Brookville Lime and then became owner of Murray Carpenter and Sons Trucking for several years until his retirement. He was a member of Starlight Promenaders Square Dancing Club, Kennebecasis Seniors and Quispamsis Seniors Groups, where he served in many helpful positions. Besides his wife of 70 years, Murray is survived by his sons, Murray J.H. and his wife Madeline of Saint John and their children, Chantale (Matt Murr) and Jean-François, Raymond and his wife Nancy of Quispamsis, and their children Corey (Danielle) and Christa (Mark Bader), great grandchildren; Cole, Laine, Seth and Beckett, sister-in-law Pearl Barbour, as well as many nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his brothers; Howard, George, and Bill, sisters; Audrey, Isabelle, Doris and Muriel. The family wishes to express their thanks to the Staff of St. Joseph's Hospital 5th & 8th floor for their exceptional care, and to Concord Hall-Shannex Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Service will be held at St. David's United Church on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Interment to take place at Rothesay Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to St. David's United Church, would be appreciated.
