Obituary of Darlene Ann Daigle

It is with great sadness that the family of Darlene Daigle announces her passing, which occurred on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by the love of her friends and family.

Darlene was born on July 13, 1972, the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle (McLaughlin) Daigle.  She was born and raised in St. Stephen but spent most of her adult life living in Saint John.  Darlene worked in Traffic Safety for many years and was an extraordinary woman, known as "Mom" to many and a grandmother with a heart of gold.  She spent her last months living the life she deserved, sitting on the porch in the house of her dreams, with her faithful companion Schooner.  Besides animals, her other passion in life was bingo. She was able to get to one last game of bingo with her brother Carson before leaving us for a better place.

Darlene is survived by the love of her life, Peter French, and his parents, Lee and Lois (Mom and Dad).  She is also survived by her son, Richard (Charity); her stepchildren, Lacey and Tasha; her granddaughters, Lily, Lillian and Maya and her grandsons, Dimitri, Ryan, Jack, Braxton, Dakota, and Cohan.  She is further survived by her three brothers, Carson, Mike and Corey; her sisters-in-law, Carol, Lisa, Cindy and Barb and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Darlene was predeceased by her brother, Shawn Daigle. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her long-time beloved friends, Rex Pettis and Lacey Blanchard, for their unwavering support during this difficult time.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM from Brenan’s Chapel and will be immediately followed by a service and reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a local food bank would be greatly appreciated by the family.
