Obituary of Katherine Florence Morrisey
On Friday, October 11th, 2024 Florence Katherine Morrisey was called home to join her family and friends that left before her. "Cathy" or "Sis" as she was affectionately known to most as, was born in Tufts Cove Nova Scotia to Ruth & Clifford Graham.
Predeceased by her parents, husband Gerald (Jerry), and daughter Carol-Ann, as well as brothers Albert "Buzzy", Jeffrey, Wayne "Sonny", Clifford "Mick", George "Junior", and sisters Barbara, Maxine "Dean", and Nancy.
Cathy will continue to live on in her children; Kimberley-Ann, Patrick, and Benjamin, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by her brother Merle Graham and sister-in-law Dianne, son in laws Kenny & Reg, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by the apple of her eye, her grandson Breck. The heartwarming bond they shared was like no other. Nanny always looked forward to their visits.
Special thanks to her daughter-in-law in law Sally. Mum was so very appreciative of the love, kindness, compassion (and treats) Sally gave to her.
Cathy's feisty personality matched her signature fiery red hair. She loved entertaining; whether it was a house party or a family dinner, everyone was welcome in her home. She always offered a bite to eat, a cup of tea or a place to stay to someone when they needed it.
Cathy also loved music and dancing. Tap, jive, disco, clogging, square dancing and everything in between. One of her absolute favorite things she loved to do was shop, and boy could she shop!
Cathy worked as a housekeeper for most of her career at the Admiral Beatty Hotel, Centracare, and St Joseph's hospital prior to her retirement.
Thank you to the staff of Maple House at the Loch Lomond Village that cared for her like family.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). As per Cathy's wishes there will be no funeral service. Remember her fondly and share a memory in her honor at www.BrenansFH.com.
Cathy is now free to dance once again when she meets up with her loved ones who left ahead of her, where I am sure there will be one epic homecoming party!
