Obituary of Maureen Helen Best
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maureen Helen Best (Galbraith), which occurred peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice, on September 28, 2024, with her family by her side.
Born in Saint John, NB, on April 4, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Joyce Galbraith (Anderson).
Maureen loved her family and friends unconditionally. She was supportive, caring, and had a witty sense of humour. She enjoyed travelling with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had many fun memories while on the boat with Dana and extended family and friends. She will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving partner, Dana Hebert of Lorneville, NB. She is also survived by her daughters Jennifer Hefferton of Rothesay, NB and Heather (Mark) Atcheson of Quispamsis, NB; her grandchildren, Jacob and Ava Atcheson; Lauren and Liam Hefferton; her brothers, Frank (Janice) Galbraith, Greg (Brenda) Galbraith, and Ron (Ruby) Galbraith; her sisters, Donna (Malcolm) McCavour and Tanya Lyon (Danny Bradley) and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was also predeceased by her nephew Brandon Lyon.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for the exceptional care given during her stay.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service as per her wishes.
