Obituary of Annie Jean Orr
Annie Jean Orr (Alward) passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, at Gordon Hall, Moncton, NB. Anne, as she liked to be called, was born in Saint John, NB on Oct 28, 1923. She was the youngest of ten and grew up in the south end of Saint John.
Anne was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Harry, in January 1992. Harry and Anne loved to travel. They had a wonderful life together.
Anne enjoyed sports, especially baseball and golf. She was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and Tiger Woods was her favorite golfer. Anne was also an avid reader but, without a doubt, Anne's favorite pastime was walking. She loved to be outside and up to her 100th birthday she'd still be out walking for a couple of hours daily.
We are so thankful to the many who made Anne's life so good these last few years - friends and staff at People's Park Tower, Moncton Hospital and Gordon Hall. A very special thank you to all the staff at Gordon Hall for their wonderful and compassionate care for Anne.
Anne was well loved by all who knew her. Special thanks to Linda & Ralph, Dora, Suzanne and so many others who loved her so dearly,
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Anne will be laid to rest with her husband Harry at Cedar Hill Extension, in Saint John. In keeping with Anne's wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. Online condolences may be shared at www.brenansfh.com.
Psalm 23: 4. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
Anne, you'll be walking the streets of gold and we'll see you soon!
