Obituary of Mary Leona Calvin

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Leona “Oney” Calvin of Wickham, loving wife of the late Ross Calvin, announce her passing which occurred on Saturday, July 27, 2024.  Oney was born in Saint John on October 29, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Leona “Babe” and Murray Holburn.

Leona is survived by her son, Michael; daughter, Lee (Stephen); grandsons, Matthew and Michael; sisters, Maureen (Joe) and Tish (Alf); brother, Murray (Joanne); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leona graduated from St. Vincent’s class of 1959 and retired from the office of Dr. Murray Holburn.  She raised her children in Westfield while spending her summers at the trailer, and then later moved to Wickham.

Her family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's CAM/GEM Unit for their utmost care.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 12:30 -  3:00 PM with the funeral liturgy beginning at 3:30 PM from Brenan’s Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of NB or a charity of one’s choice.
