Obituary of Marlene Allison Munro
Born in Hanford Brook, New Brunswick, Marlene died peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
In her earlier years, Marlene enjoyed gardening and spending time at the family cottage at Hunter Lake. She also worked at a number of local businesses including Cowie & Son, Ltd. In more recent years, she enjoyed attending the Imperial Theatre in Saint John, taking bus tours around the province, and travelling to Ontario to visit with her daughter’s family. Two of her fondest travel memories were a European trip with her husband and her daughter’s family, and a Caribbean cruise with her husband and her brother-in-law and his wife.
Marlene was the daughter of the late Allan and Vivian (Godsoe) Wilson and is survived by son Bob and daughter Lisa (Eric) Giguere. She also leaves two granddaughters, Stephanie (John) Munro and Vic Giguere, and two great-granddaughters, Shelby Munro-Evans and Kailyn Munro. Also surviving are one sister, Lynne (Gordon) Allaby; and one sister-in-law, Mary (Marion) Sullivan. She also leaves nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her loving husband Robert (Bob), brothers Vernon (Sonny), Wayne and Brian; brothers-in-law Junior and William (Billy); and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Ruth (Betsie).
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. David Bewick and the staff at the Heart Function Clinic at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the outstanding care they provided to Marlene over many years.
