Lloyd Frederick Galbraith passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Lloyd was born on May 5, 1934 in Browns Flat, NB, to the late Matthew and Ethel (Beckett) Galbraith.
Lloyd will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Gladys (Pitcher) Galbraith, and his son Brian (Jill). He will also be missed by his grandchildren; Terrance (Cheryl), Robert (Jenna), and Abby (Nicole), along with great grandchildren; Kloee, Alice, Lily, Rose, Curtis and Calvin, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his sister Doreen Bogle, her husband Arthur Bogle, and his brother-in-law, Gordon Pitcher.
Lloyd was known to greet everyone he knew with a big smile, and a friendly conversation. He loved telling stories from the past, and had a genuine interest in catching up with everyone.
Lloyd was a dedicated worker. Employed by Lafarge Saint John, he worked his way up to manager, and remained in this position for many years, before finally retiring in 1993. After retirement, with his wife Gladys, he owned and operated Galbraith Greenhouse, serving the Browns Flat community for many years. Lloyd was also on the Boy Scouts Group committee for 35 years.
Lloyd’s passion was hockey, and his grandchildren. He was actively involved with Minor Hockey, and supported his grandchildren by ensuring, no matter the weather, they’d make it to the rink. During the summer months, Lloyd enjoyed trailering, and could be found at various campgrounds throughout Southern New Brunswick, with his wife and family.
