Obituary of James Duncan
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jim in his 77th year, after a pronounced battle with cancer. He was pre-deceased by his parents Jim and Ethel Duncan, as well as his cherished sister Jay-Dee (Duncan) Webster and her husband Jerry, all of Brantford, ON, his hometown. Enriched with a wandering spirit, Jim left Brantford in his early 20s, finding his way to Calgary AB where he met his soulmate and blended their families – a real-life Brady Bunch with his three children and hers! The journey did not end there, as he, his wife and three of their children and their respective children and partners, moved in a family caravan style across country in 2007 to settle in the Kingston NB region.
Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife Terry Norndon, his daughters Melanie Wilson, Dallas (Doug) Peacock, Bonnie (Jamie) Rodgerson, his sons Aric Duncan, Shane (Shelley) Norndon, Jamie Duncan, as well as his sister Allison (Bill) Pellick. Carrying on our family legacy, Jim also leaves behind grandchildren Tyler and Aaron Wilson, Dakota Peacock, Courtney (Peacock) Warren, Ivy Norndon, Alex and Ethan Hache, and Aurora and James Duncan. Providing great comfort and companionship over the last two years, we must also mention his faithful four-legged friend Annie.
As per Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a small celebration of life with close family and friends will take place at a later date. Many thanks go out to the extensive team of doctors and the nursing staff at Saint John Regional Hospital and at Bobby’s Hospice, who provided outstanding care and demonstrated tremendous compassion through a most devastating illness. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119)
We love you Dad, and will miss you always. Rest peacefully, happily reunited with Gram, Papa, Aunt Jay and Uncle Jer.
