Obituary of Ruby Gertrude Langille
Ruby Gertrude Langille passed away peacefully on Monday July 22nd, 2024 nearly a week after celebrating her 90th birthday. She was thrilled with all the cards and phone calls she received on this occasion and with her birthday dinner at Lily’s. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Jerome (Bunny) Langille and is survived by her two son’s Stephen and John as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruby was born on July 15th, 1934 in Saint John, NB and was the daughter of Gertrude and Edward Fitzgerald.
Ruby was a woman of deep faith and she was always praying for her family, friends and situations that needed love and healing. She worked at various jobs over the years including; the candy counter at MRA’s, the ticket booth at Hammond River Speedway (build by her husband and his two friends), selling real estate in the 70's and was a book keeper for many years at VON, as well as assisting with the office work at the family gravel business, Fundy Bay Holdings (now Fundy Bay Sand and Gravel).
In 1999 she moved out of her home on Douglas Avenue to spend the last 25 years in east saint john in the airport area. She lived in her home that she loved till the end which is what she wanted.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). Ruby didn’t want a service or anything special after her passing. Her wish is that we be kind and love one another and help each other in any small way we can. In leu of donations please go visit a loved one.
