Obituary of Catria Jackson
It is with broken hearts the family of Marie Josephine “Catria” Jackson announce her unexpected passing on Sunday, February 11, 2024. She was also known as Cat, Cathy, Catria, Nana, Mere or Mom/Mum, who was a kind-hearted soul with a radiant smile that brightened the lives of all who knew her. She was born in Tracadie, N.B. in 1950. Catria was predeceased by her parents; Leandre and Helene Breau, and her husband; Walter B. Jackson (1992), two brothers; Florent Breau, and Stanislas Caissie, former partner Alan Oliver (Mad Dog) and infant great granddaughter; Addison.
Catria is survived by her two sons for whom she adored: Michael (Diana) Jackson, of Grand Bay Westfield, and Jamie (Gail) Jackson, of Flagstaff, Arizona. She fiercely loved her four precious grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) McCracken, of Grand Bay Westfield, James (Chelsea) Cochrane, of Edmonton, Alberta, Sydney Jackson, and Laurel Jackson, her Arizona Angels in Flagstaff. She leaves behind eight great grandchildren; Big Jace, Little Jase, Levi, Bentley, Owen, Reese, Casey, and Tessa. All of her grandchildren brought simple joys and an extra layer of happiness. Catria had many cousins that she shared unbreakable ties and close friends that were chosen family.
She will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and the joy she brought to others. May her spirit continue to live on in our hearts. In her honor, let's celebrate a life filled with laughter, a little mischief, and a unique charm that will forever be missed.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). There will be visitation held from 11:00am – 1:00pm, with Service to follow at 2pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Holy Spirit Parish (St. Matthews Worship Site), 45 Dollard Drive Saint John, N.B.
With a humor that could brighten the gloomiest days, she leaves us with a contagious laugh echoing in our memories. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity or a special treat with those you hold dear.
