Obituary of Christopher Blair Thibodeau

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Christopher Blair Thibodeau announce his passing which occurred on February 1, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 23, 1967, in Saint John, New Brunswick - Christopher grew up in a large family and was lovingly raised by his maternal grandmother, Violet Thibodeau (DeGrace).
He is remembered by his wife, Gloria Johnstone; her three children Sean Lee (Jason), Stephanie Guimond (Allan), Scott Lee (Kaylee & children Elise and Aria); his mother Barbara Kindred; brothers Julian Kindred (Amanda), Joshua Kindred; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Chris acquired his G.E.D and enjoyed working security for the bulk of his career before retiring due to a heart condition.
Although he was a private person he had a kind soul and an easy going attitude. He was able to strike up a conversation with anyone, making friends wherever he went.
He loved the outdoors, Science Fiction, animals and thoroughly enjoyed driving (a skill he acquired later in life).
In his recent years he enjoyed relaxing times at home with his with wife and pets.

Chris will be remembered for his unique sense of humour, kindness and for the strength and determination he maintained during his battle with cancer.
He truly loved animals and leaves behind the family cat "Missy". He was predeceased by his beloved cats: Uber, Marvin & Blue; and dogs Teah & Yoda.
He also had a special place in his heart for the neighbourhood crows that visit his home every morning and even after being admitted to the hospital, he ensured they were taken care of.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone for their kindness and support.
Although Chris wanted to preserve his privacy for the duration of his illness there was no shortage of love and support from friends and family.
A very special thank you to the EMT/paramedic teams that answered our calls as well as the lovely staff in the oncology ward at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Chris was so grateful for every single one of you.

The family would also like to thank our friends and neighbours for their kindness and generosity.
Thank you for being there, you held a special spot in Chris's heart and continue to have one in ours.

Christopher's spirit did not waiver during his illness, he kept his positive outlook and humour even on his toughest days, always expressing his gratitude to everyone.
He ensured we knew how proud he was to be part of our family and expressed his love and gratitude at every opportunity.

To those who are still engaged in their battle with cancer, know that our thoughts are with you and your family.
Chris would want you to spend your energy on hope, "To live in fear is no life at all".

“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those who transform into the force. Mourn them do not.” - Yoda
