Obituary of Stanley Humphrey

The death of Stanley Thomas Humphrey, husband of the late Helen Gladys (Clark) Humphrey, occurred on August 22, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 26, 1927, he was the son of the late Thomas Stanley and Alice Irene (McHarg) Humphrey. Stan will be remembered by his children Thomas, Catherine (James) Swyers, Helen (Ronald) Munn, Scott (Lana), Carol Earle (Steve), William (Lori), Susan (Richard) Simpson, Richard, John, Kenneth; and brother James. He will also be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as his extended family and friends. He was also predeceased by his daughter Elaine; grandson Tyler; siblings Eleanor, Mary (in infancy) and William. Stan was born and raised in Saint John, he was a longshoreman with local 273, and a commercial fisherman. He was kind, generous, forgiving, and always spoke well about everyone. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Wednesday August 24 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday August 25 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, and reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. The family would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care Unit, Saint John Regional Hospital for the compassion shown to Dad during his stay.
