Rod & ShelleyWe are so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing...Paul & I remember fondly our many summers at Sabago with Mom, Dad, Delvan & Marion and Dot & George...I still remember at our wedding the Priest asking us when we were signing the Marriage Certificate who the stunning couple with the beautiful tans were in the fourth row...and thanks to your Mother's lovely wedding gift...she took our invitation and mounted it on a plaque...Paul has never forgotten our Wedding Anniversary in 33 years! As a kid & actually to this day my three favorite recipes are tomato spagetti cassorole (with those little pieces of crunchy bread on top), chicken chow mein and Dot's famous rolls (still have the recipe card with her name on it) all which your Mother used to 'whip up' when we visited Saint John.Know that our thoughts are with you at this difficult time...

Dear Rod and family,I was so sorry to hear from Mom that Dot had passed away. Your mother was a great friend to my Mom (Beth Steele) over the years and I know she is going to miss her very much. My strongest memories of your Mom were from club nights, when all the ladies gathered to knit, stitch and whatever - mostly to chat and share life experience, helped along with delicious food. Kids then, my brother, sister and I looked forward to the next day when we got all the yummy leftovers. What a great group and what a wonderful part of it your Mom was! Shelley, Rod and FamiliesIt was with deep regret that I learned of Dot's passing. She was such a talented lady and so much fun to be with on those trips to Sebago Lake in years past. Dear Rod Stears and Shelley MacLean and family Please except my condolences. I was very saddened to hear of Mrs. Stears passing. She was a very strong willed person and loved her children and grandchildren very much. I remember lots of times sitting and hearing stories of her childhood, the fish market, stories of her very large family in Lorneville and of when her family first arrived in Lorneville. Dorothy loved to tell stories over a cup of hot tea and homemade cookies. When Shelly and I would take Ryan and Andrew for a visit, they loved her baking. I feel so blessed to have known Mrs. Strears and will always remember the great times we had staying at Sebago Lake and Mrs. Stears teaching me to sew and to make many other crafts.
