Obituary of Earl E. J. Biddiscombe

It is with profound sadness the family of Earl Biddiscombe, loving husband of Kay Biddiscombe, announce his passing on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Saint John on February 6, 1934, he was a son of the late Elsie (Melanson) and James Biddiscombe. Earl’s first love of his life was his wife and his girls, followed closely by painting portraits. He was an artist by trade and calling and worked at NB Publishing in the art department for 42 years. He was a member of the Navy League, Lions Club, Radio Club and #9 Rodney Sea Cadets. A man with well-rounded hobbies, he loved animals, golf, bowling, curling, fishing, hunting and ceramics. In addition to his beloved wife, Kay of 56 years, Earl will be sadly missed by his daughters, Mary Biddiscombe (Sterling), Linda Johnston (Lyndon), Lorraine Carr (Charles), Karen Byers (Corey), Susan Brooks (Blaine) and Colleen Biddiscombe (Scott); his grandchildren, Tara, Michael, Adam, Corey, David, Jason, Alicia, Steven, Sara, Brittany, Nicholas, Madison, Scott, Melissa, Kaitlyn and Joshua; eight great grandchildren; two sisters Lois Brown (Jack) and Carol Lunney (Daniel); a sister in law, Lois Biddiscombe; several nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and extended family. Earl was predeceased by his parents and a brother, James Biddiscombe. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 am from St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 50 Clarendon Street, Saint John. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, Romero House, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
