Obituary of H. Grace Waldron

After a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease, H. Grace "Gracie" Waldron passed away on June 3, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Born on July 8, 1930 in Chance Harbour, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (Tiner) Mawhinney. Gracie was a gentle, loving, lovable Christian lady. Her passion was giving to others and making every person feel special. Gracie was a cosmetics representative for 35 years, as well as a bank teller. Her commitment to her church was always in the forefront of her life. Her faith was strong and unfailing. Gracie was devoted to her family who were the center of her world. She will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Donald E. Waldron (Sr.); daughter, Margo (Stephen) Hall; brother, J. Gordon (Muriel) Mawhinney; sister, Margaret "Betty" (Henry "Harry") MacDonald; daughters-in-law, Jane Waldron and Alpina Waldron; grandchildren, Christopher Waldron, John (Parissa) Waldron, Robyn Hall, Anne Waldron, Adam Waldron, Ethan Waldron; great grandchildren, Kianna Waldron and Cameron Waldron. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Dr. Donald E. Waldron (Jr.), David Arthur Waldron; brothers, Lloyd Mawhinney and Ervine Mawhinney. Resting at RiverCross Church, 61 Forbes Drive, with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM from the church. A reception to celebrate her life will take place following the service. After the reception, the interment will take place in the Maces Bay Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Parkinson’s Society, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Hope Mission of Main Street Baptist Church, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
