Obituary of Mary Agnes McDonald

Mary Agnes McDonald, formerly of Chance Harbour, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Loch Lomond Villa, in her 101st year. Born in Chance Harbour on April 29, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Annie (Shea) Abbott. Mary enjoyed the outdoors, and often took long walks. She always had a positive and cheery attitude, and enjoyed other people's company. Mary loved to dance, and in her younger years never missed an opportunity to attend the local events in the Musquash and Chance Harbour areas. Mary is survived by her nieces, Carol Abbott of Verdun, QC, Linda Abbott-Watt (Brian Peterson) of Riverview, and Jane Abbott (Dexter Ramsay) of Toronto. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Colquhoun of Toronto; brothers Arthur and Frank Abbott; and a nephew, Kenneth Abbott. The family would like to thank the staff of the Loch Lomond Villa for their care and friendship to Mary over the last number of years. It truly became her second home. A funeral service will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
