Kenneth Gallant

Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Gallant

Our hearts are very heavy as we announce the passing of our very beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Kenny, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 16, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Born December 10, 1954, he was a son of the late Joseph Leonard and Clara Elizabeth (Brice) Gallant. Kenny worked at the Saint John Dry Dock for many years, where he retired from as a Foreman in 1990, due to illness. He enjoyed all kinds of music, and was a good samaritan, and those who knew him knew this well as he would have done anything for anyone. He loved his family so very much, and looked forward to time spent with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was very proud of his two children, and was known to brag about them. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye. He was married for 39 years to the love of his life, Debra A. (Lovett) Gallant, who was very beloved and close to his heart. He was loved by all and will be missed by many. Besides his loving wife, Debra, Kenny is survived by his son, Andrew "Andy" Gallant (Tinisha Powell-Gallant), of Red Head; his daughter, Trisha Gallant of Fredericton; grandchildren: Isaiah Gallant, Noah LeBlanc, Selina Gallant, and Lexi LeBlanc; brothers: David (Brenda) of Pettingill Road, Les (Maria) of Land Road, and Randy (Tanya) of Golden Grove Road; sisters: Linda Saulnier (Gerry) of Golden Grove Road, Judith "Judy" Arthurs (Vernon) of Kingston Peninsula, and Rose Nogueria (Brian) of Hunter Lake. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Roger Gallant; and sisters: Denise McKinnon, Gloria Olsen, and Holly Gallant. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424, with visiting on Saturday, January 18, 2014 and Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 12:00 noon in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Upper Golden Grove.
