Obituary of Stanley Vernon Baird

Baird, Stanley Vernon passed away December 25, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on July 7, 1934 he was the son of George and Estelle (Bradshaw) Baird. After apprenticing at Bond Tailors he spent his life in the men’s fashion trade in Canada and United States and has spent the last six years as Manager of Prince Edward Square and Parkway Malls. An avid boxing buff, he spent many years involved in the sport as a judge, promoter, manager, and also co-founded amateur clubs including Saint John’s Golden Gloves Club. He is predeceased by a son, Scott Robin and his mother and father. He leaves behind two sisters Eleanor Hillman and Honey Walsh, his brother Bobby, two children Antony and Sarah, and three grandchildren Emily, Matthew, and Samuel. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Brenans Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Golden Gloves Boxing Club or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. He touched the lives of his family and friends in so many positive ways and will be sadly missed by all.
