Obituary of Irene Mildred Ross

The death of Irene Mildred Ross of Saint John, wife of the late Leonard P. T. Ross, occurred on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Saint John on October 18, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Guilford and Mildred Grant. Irene spent her life in Saint John raising her family, then working at Zeller’s Department Store on King Street. She was a member of Park Avenue United Church, as well as the Fireside Group of Park Avenue United Church. Irene is survived by a son, Alan Ross (Bobbie) of St. John’s, NL; a daughter, Norma MacLean of Rothesay; four grandchildren, Christopher MacLean (Paula) of Milton, ON, Pamela MacLean of Edinburgh, UK, Tara Ross of Calgary, AB, and Andrew Ross of St. John’s, NL; two great grandchildren, Zoe and Skylar MacLean; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Irene was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Grant, and her sister, Thelma Gillen (Gerald). The family would like to thank the staff of Birch Lane at the Loch Lomond Villa for the kindness and care shown to Irene during her stay there. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Park Avenue United Church or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
