Obituary of Kathy Jane Mahoney

Kathy Jane Mahoney of Saint John passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Saint John on November 7, 1955, she was a daughter of the late J. A. Sandy and Mary Ann (Buckley) MacDonald. Kathy enjoyed reading, dancing, playing bingo, and listening to old country music, and always enjoyed the company of her cat, Sassy. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 53 Ladies Auxiliary. Kathy is survived by her children, Wendy Humble (Jean-Guy Savoie) of Hampton, and John "Sandy" Humble (Jessica Thomas) of Enfield, NS; grandchildren Shawna, Keri, Tori, Dakota, and Aden; a great granddaughter, Ava; sisters Anne Rodgers, Margot Vey, Sheila Mahar, and Edna McCutcheon; brothers Bob MacDonald and Fred MacDonald; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by sisters Marion MacDonald and Blanche Clayton; and by brothers Freddy, Jim, Teddy, and Jack MacDonald. The family would like to extend thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of the MICU at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the excellent care Kathy received during her short stay. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, April 21, 2013, from 2-7 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Mosher Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Epilepsy Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
