Obituary of C. Elaine Goddard

C. Elaine (Trites) Goddard passed away on Monday, April 8th at her home in Rothesay surrounded by her loving family and friends. For over a year, Elaine lived with her lung and brain cancer, but did not let it get in her way and it was only by taking her from us that cancer had any hold on her life. Elaine was a wonderful, independent spirit, incredible mother, dear friend, and loving partner who will be missed by so many. She was passionate about life, enjoying the company of friends and family, at dinner gatherings and holiday celebrations. She was a dedicated mother, so very proud of her eldest daughter and excited by the prospects in her youngest daughter. For those who knew her, she inspired us to be our best with her commitment to the people around us. She worked hard and cared about both her patients in the dental clinics and the customers in the restaurants where she worked; she took time to know people and appreciate them. She is survived by her daughters, Emily and Nell, her husband Stephen, her parents Boyd and Ferne, brothers, David and Glenn, sisters Karen and Lynn, and families. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A memorial will be held in Rothesay on Sunday, April 14th at 1:30 pm at Pomodori, 83 Hampton Rd.
