Obituary of Ruth Irene Bonner

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ruth Irene Bonner of Saint John, wife of the late Thomas Myrell Bonner, which occurred on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on November 7, 1928 she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Murphy) Bartlett. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Vernon) Gibson of Elmsdale, NS; four sisters, Joan (Guy) Richard, Nancy (Robert) McCoy, Dawn Smith and Linda (Wayne) Steele all of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Debby’s two cats that Ruth considered her grandchildren, Misty and Ruffus. She was predeceased by three brothers, William "Billy", Donald and James Bartlett, and one sister, Betty Achorn. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
