Obituary of George Lecouter

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of George "Deda" Lecouter of Saint John, partner of Gloria King occurred on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Miscou Island, NB on March 9, 1931 he was a son of the late Hiram and Alice (Aubé) Lecouter. Deda was retired as a self-employed Lumberjack. He is survived by two sons, Danny and Norman (Margaret) of Saint John; four daughters, Ann Marie Lecouter, Susan Cook (Kevin), Annette (Kevin) Maher and Monique (Greg) Lecouter all of Saint John; nine grandchildren and Sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emilie Jane Lecouter, Jeannette (Gerald Simon) Lecouter and Yvette (Gilbert Ward) Lecouter; five brothers, Hiram; William (Elizabeth Glazer); Leo (Shanron Marony); Eldon (Diane Chiasson) and Normand (Rose Marie); several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Justine – (Mary) Marie Lecouter; infant son, Daniel; son-in-law, Percy Cook; brother-in-law, Arthur Mallet and sister-in-law, Anita Lantiegne. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, from 7- 9 PM and Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM.
