Obituary of James L. K. Morton
The death of James L. K. Morton of Public Landing occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Jim was born in Saint John, a son of the late Eric and Doreen (Barnes) Morton, and was a life-long resident of the Saint John area. He was educated in local school and was a graduate of the former Saint John Vocational School. Jim had been employed with Irving Pulp and Paper for many years and was a member of Local 30 C.E.P. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved the outdoors. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by a brother, Eric W. Morton in 1976 and a nephew, Gary B. Morton in 2002. He is survived by two brothers, Gary F. Morton (Sue) of Public Landing and Gordie Sheffroth (Karla) of Oromocto; two sisters, Charlotte Vail (Lee) of Browns Flat and Norma Boyd (Mike) of Moncton; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Fernhill Cemetery.
