Obituary of A. F. Jim MacLaren

The death of Alvin Frederick “Jim” MacLaren occurred on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the age of 75. Jim was born in St. Andrew’s, NB on December 26, 1934 to parents Betty and Murray MacLaren. He was raised in the North End of Saint John, and was a proud “North Ender” all his life. He married his sweetheart, Lillian Johnson, who predeceased him in 1994. He was also predeceased by his father, Murray, and brothers Robert and Gerald MacLaren. Jim is survived by his mother, Betty, son Darren, daughter-in-law Lisa, grandson Adam, sisters Avis Yeomans, Frances Smith, and Lois Goodine, many nephews and nieces, their children, and his companion Margaret Myers. People from every walk of life will remember Jim’s sense of humour and his zest for life. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9, with a service in memory of his life on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
