Obituary of Walter Wellington Lutes

The unexpected passing of Walter Lutes occurred at his home in Long Reach on Thursday, December 24, 2009. He was born on August 21, 1943 at Saint John to the late Walter Sr. and Glenda Lutes. Walter worked as a truck driver for various companies; Midland, Brookville and RST. Following his retirement from trucking, Walter worked for Fullerton’s Lumber Mill in Clifton Royal. In his younger years, Walter loved to cowboy owning a show horse named Pride, they won many blue ribbons. He also looked after his good friend Ed Fullerton for over 26 years. Walter is survived by his two daughters: Laura Lee Gallant (Gary) of Saint John and Mary Magee (Brian) of Grand Bay-Westfield; brother, Nathan; two sisters: Barb and Rosemarie; four grandchildren: Donnie Lutes, Joshua Shewbridge and Alana and Mariha Germaine as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his wife Jane Elizabeth (Galbraith) Lutes and several brother and sisters. At Walter’s request, a time of remembrance will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 1:00 – 2:30 PM. For those who wish, remembrances to the Animal Rescue League or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
