Obituary of W. Eric G. Sutherland

The death of William Eric George Sutherland of Westfield Road, Saint John, husband of the late Dianne L. (Gibson) Sutherland, occurred on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Truro, NS on July 16, 1943, he was the son of the late Allison and Edith (Rogers) Sutherland. Eric was the owner and operator of EWS Auto Service for many years before his retirement. He was an active member of the Saint John Model Railroad Association, St. James Anglican Church, Broad Street and a former member of the Saint John Power Boat Squadron. Eric is survived by three daughters, Ann-Marie Sutherland of Montreal, QC, Jillian Wilkins (Greg) of Saint John and Caryn Sutherland of Toronto, ON, one brother, Bruce Sutherland (Mary) of Doha, Qatar, one sister, Linda MacArthur (Robert) of Fredericton, NB, one granddaughter, Kaitlin Wilkins, three grandsons, Adam McKnight, Suny Sutherland and Jessy Sutherland, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Park Avenue, Saint John on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
