Obituary of Stanley Groom Fiander

Fiander, Stanley Groom … The death of Stanley Groom Fiander of Saint John, NB, husband of Jacqueline (Crompton) Fiander, occurred on Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bocabec, NB, May 16, 1922, the son of the late James and Lena (Groom) Fiander. Stan had been employed with Pascal Emerson as Department Manager; a Veteran of World War II he had served overseas in the Army. Survived by his wife, Jackie; two sons, Steven (Terri) Fiander and Robert (Cathy Normandeau) Fiander, both of Saint John; one sister, Kathleen Cross of St. Andrews, NB; two grandchildren, Mary Ann Gamble (Chris) and Laura Fiander; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Irene McAleenan. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a Tribute to a Veteran Service at 7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 3:30 pm. Interment will be in Bocabec Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. James Church - Lakewood, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor’s choice.
