Obituary of Frederick Bevan Bishop

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Fred, at the age of 72, on June 3, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Fred leaves behind his wife Florence 'Flo' (Hamilton) Bishop, son Scott (Elaine), daughter Sharon Soucy (Dennis), granddaughters Melanie Soucy, Kelsey, Jessica and Danielle Bishop. He was the son of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Coates) Bishop. He graduated from Simmonds High School and chose and loved Bus Driving. His passion for Bus Driving and the Irving Family was very strong and he would drive Mrs. J. K. Irving and the children to Bouctouche, NB, on many occasions. He left driving for a short time to work for Social Services and JDI Sawmills, only to find the passion for bus driving was too strong and returned to the Bus Company where he drove up to a month ago. He coached Adam and Juvenile hockey at the KV Arena for many years. He was the Past Master of the St. Martins Masonic Lodge #30 for 2 terms. Surviving are brothers; Bill (Norma), David (Barb), Daryl (Nancy), Donnie (Sandra) and Mike (Sue), sisters Betty Kimball, Carol Dixon (Malcolm), Marilyn Fanjoy (Harold) and many cousins, nieces and nephews and his extended family-the Drivers of SMT now Acadian Lines. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Murray. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 am, from St. David's United Church, Rothesay. Following cremation a family committal service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St David's United Church would be appreciated.
