Obituary of MURRAY F.T. LONG

The death of Murray Francis Timothy Long loving husband, father and grandfather occurred on Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. His love for his family was above all else in his life and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He had a strong passion for giving to children in need and his generosity was far reaching. His sense of humor was a great source of laughter and comfort for all those around him and he felt so rewarded by making people smile. He was extremely strong spiritually and this carried him through his battle until the end. His spirit will live forever in the hearts of those who cherished him. Born in Goshen, NB, he was the son of the late Irvine and Mary (O'Connor) Long. Murray was formerly employed with Saint John Energy for many years. He is survived by his wife Marion (McDevitt) Long, one son, Christopher (Deanne) of Rothesay, two daughters, Colleen Long (John Starr) of Quispamsis and Jennifer Peters (Andrew) of Rothesay, three brothers, Raymond (Jeanne) of Truro, NS, Bill (Sophie) of Ottawa, ON and Arthur (Susan) of Sussex, seven grandchildren, Emma, Jack, Maddy, Isabel, Liam, Regan and Anderson, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother Bernard. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, May 1, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
