Obituary of Stanley Norman McNally

The death of Stanley Norman McNally of Clifton Royal, NB, husband of Deborah (Thomson) McNally, occurred on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Apohaqui, NB, on January 19, 1947, he was the son of the late Oliver and Frances (Connell) McNally. Stan worked for Clow Canada (McAvity's) for 39 years as a Machinist. He was a member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62 and was an avid hunter, fisherman and Toronto Maple Leaf and Blue Jays fan, having an ongoing bet with his brother-in-law that Toronto would always win. Stan loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert (Becky) of Niagara Falls and Arran (Kim) of Clifton Royal, one daughter, Amanda Young (Jim) of Kingston, four grandsons, Noah, Lucas, Nathan and Nevin, two brothers, Larry (Barb) of Ketepec and twin brother, Mike (Donna) of Kingston, four sisters, Olivia Maher (Hal) of Quispamsis, Nancy Lanigan (Pat) of Quispamsis, Janice DeWolfe (Al) of Saint John and Sandra Daley (Sandy Wilson) of Long Reach, parents-in-law, Robert and Frances Lingley of Woodmans Point and Walter Thomson of Port Williams, NS, brother-in-law Robie Thomson of Lepreau, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Brenda, nephew Barry and a sister-in-law, Theresa. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Interment in the Summerville United Church Cemetery. Remembrances to the Children's Wish Foundation, the Peninsula Ambulance and Fire Department, the Legion Poppy Fund, Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care, or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service on Friday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
