Obituary of Eileen P. Neal

Neal, Eileen P. ? Passed away peacefully, Eileen Patricia (Day) Bevans Neal known as Grammy/Nanny Neal, of Upham, NB, wife of the late Laurence Neal occurred on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Meadus) Day. Eileen was employed with Centracare as a Psychiatric Attendant II until her retirement. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and an avid swimmer for which she had received an award for saving her friend and also taught her grandchildren to swim. She is survived by three sons: David (Betty) Bevans of Upham; William (Doris) Bevans of Barnsville and Larry Neal of Upham; three daughters: Shirley Burns of Florida; Jeanette Haase and Dawn (Sydney) Journeay both of Hamilton, ON; four step-daughters: Doreen (Bevans) Harvey of Sussex; Dianne (Bob) Thorne of Alberta; Kathleen (Frank) of Hamilton and Linda (Rube) Klingsphon of British Columbia; one brother, Roy (Wanda) Day of Toronto; three sisters: Phyllis (Walter) Chase of Ottawa; Joan (Bill) Munford of Sussex and Eleanor Thomas of Woodman's Point; twenty eight grandchildren, forty eight great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Bevans; her second husband, Laurence Neal; brother, Lloyd Day; sister, Evelyn Mills and two brothers-in-law, Arthur Mills and Harry Thomas. By Eileen's request there will be no visiting. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2006 from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB. www.brenansfh.com
