Obituary of Doris Mary Connell

The death of Doris Mary (Smith) Connell of Saint John, wife of the late Edward John Connell, occurred unexpectedly at home on Friday, September 30, 2005. Born in Saint John, daughter of the late Frederick and Rita (Doucette) Smith, Doris was a member of St. Pius X Parish and the C.W.L. She is survived by four sons: Brian (Elaine) of Fredericton, Kevin M. (Henrietta), Wayne R. (Carol), and Bruce (Nancy) of Saint John; and sisters Helen Acorn, BC, and Mary (Ralph) Raymond, Saint John. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Emily, David, Rachel, Timothy, Theresa Kathleen and Kelly; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Doris was predeceased by her brother, Harold Smith, and sisters Theresa Fulton and Shirley Drew. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 7-9 pm and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. from Brenan's to St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Douglas McNeill. Remembrances may be made to Hospice Saint John or to a charity of the donor's choice.
