Obituary of Mark B. J. Bernatchez

BERNATCHEZ, MARK B. J.- The death of Mark Bernard Joseph Bernatchez of 45 Coldbrook Crescent, Saint John, occurred by accident on Saturday, June 25, 2005. Born in Saint John on June 11, 1981, he was the son of Bernard Bernatchez and Diane (Rioux) Bernatchez. Mark graduated from Simond's High School in 1999 and was the Detail Shop Manager at Parkway Ford Lincoln for the past several years. He loved racing bikes and cars and was a member of the NB Riders where he was known as “the Mexican”. Mark touched the lives of many people and always did things to make people laugh and feel welcome. He was a friend to all and will be sadly missed. Besides his parents, Mark is survived by step-son, Brandon, one brother, Matthew, one sister, Julie Gould (Kirk) of Saint John, maternal grandfather, Camille Rioux (Gertrude) of Bradley Lake, paternal grandmother, Roseanna Bernatchez of Saint John, maternal great-grandmother, Freda Cahill of Summerside, PEI, one niece and God daughter, Marissa Gould, several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend, Tracey Forgraves. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Ethel Rioux and his paternal grandfather, Ernest Bernatchez. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the IWK Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
