Obituary of Captain Reginald McLeod Creaser

The death of Captain Reginald “Reg” McLeod Creaser, of 219 Ellerdale Street, Saint John, husband of the late Margaret Ann (Sweeney) Creaser, occurred unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at his residence. Born in Riverport, NS, he was the son of the late Ivan and Ina Mae (Wamboldt) Creaser. Captain Creaser was a Veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the Merchant Marine and was employed as a Ship's Agent with Cargill Grain Co. Ltd in Baie Comeau, Quebec for many years before his retirement. He is survived by one son, Larry Creaser of Calgary, AB, four daughters, Jane Butler of Halifax, NS, Judy Nice of Saint John, Gwen Creaser (Daniel Beland) of Baie Comeau, PQ and Mary Kelly of Saint John one sister, Gwen Marcus of Saint John, nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and special caregiver, Donna Cullen. He was predeceased by one daughter, Eleanor Rita Creaser, one granddaughter, Shannon Dale Butler and three brothers, Eugene, Douglas and Gilbert Creaser. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 4-8 PM. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church, Loch Lomond Road, Saint John on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Beland, Matthew Butler, Josh Kelly, Alex Kelly and Kevin Nice. Remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated.
